Is Your Jewelry Made Just for You?

It is very easy today to follow fashion trends and just pick up a necklace or two from a store to wear with our hand picked outfits.

We put so much effort into finding the right dress, the right top, but we let ourselves down with our personal adornments.

We very rarely think about how the right piece of jewelry can be just the item to make heads turn and people compliment us.

However, throughout history, it has been the creation of the adornment that has been at the forefront of fashion.

When one looks at photos of Catherine the Great, we tend not to notice her clothes, but are drawn to her elaborate jewelry. The pieces were largely designed with her input, and made to fit and compliment her own figure.

She made sure every piece had her own particular style, and fit her shape perfectly.

She was a glamorous woman, ahead of her time, and was famous for her beauty and sensuality.

It is still important today to make sure, particularly when it comes to necklaces, that you make the most of the assests you have, and dont draw attention to the ones you dont.

Jewelry is no different from clothing when it comes to how it "fits" each woman. Ladies with long necks look stunning with chokers, or necklaces that sit high around the neck, but if your neck is shorter, you need to draw attention to your decolletage or collarbone area. All women no matter their shape or size, have beautiful collarbones.

Jewelry that is designed exactly to you shape can make an enmormous difference to the look of your jewelry. Being just half an inch out can make or break your look. Ensure when you are buying jewelry, that the designer takes measurements. This is absolutely vital. This is also the beauty of buying made to order pieces.

In the time of Catherine the Great, this was the only way to make jewelry.

Remember, jewelry is the talking point of most outfits, live with the spirit of Catherine the great and always be Admired and Noticed

Use Public Domain Information to Start a Clippings Agency

Clippings can be modern or old but bear in mind modern types are quite easy for people wanting information to locate for themselves. It's far harder for anyone to locate really old information about their favourite subjects. This is where the public domain comes to the rescue. And because this information is out of copyright and in the public domain you don't need to have a reproduction license or any other permission to copy information to distribute.

It's a good idea to create information packs about specific subjects and events and ask a standard price across the board. My daughter does this on eBay, selling what she calls 'Doggy Bags' which include pictures, articles, newspaper cutting, puzzles, and lots of other printed bits and pieces about individual dog breeds. She only needs one copy of a particular item, in the public domain, which she can then copy to add to hundreds of doggy bags she might sell on eBay each year.

Here are more markets for you to consider for your standard content clippings bundles:

# Target private individuals and families requiring information relating to family members in years gone by. This is usually for genealogical purposes but you'll also find people specialising in creating clippings packages for First Name or Second Name research.

# Target business owners and industrial research companies needing historical information and specific businesses or about commerce or industry in general. This information is often required to create mementos for visitors or as historical memoirs to celebrate some major business milestone.

# Target writers of articles and novels, and other genre, all of whom need research material, some more than others, and not all have time, inclination or facilities to do research themselves, etc.

# Other potential clients include: scientists, genealogists, teachers, antique specialists, hobbyists, etc., etc., etc.

# You might specialise in certain subjects like: genealogical matters, astrology, fishing, gardening, recipes and cooking, and so on. Your service will probably be marketed through magazines targeted at your specific audience.

# Write compilations which almost all magazines and newspapers require, sometimes in profusion. For example, '100 things you didn't know about X (a specific location)' can be compiled from clippings and rewritten in minutes and targeted at publishers in the appropriate area. The same exercise can be carried out for countless locations all over the world. It can also be created from information about millions of different subjects. Although you can use modern publications, you could be asked to pay a license by individual editors and publishers to copy and distribute their information. So focus on public domain items instead and you can copy as much as you like and charge whatever you like.

# As touched upon earlier you could target people sharing a common surname and compile as many cutting and clippings as you can find on each marketable surname. People are interested in others bearing the same name as themselves, even where there is no actual blood relationship. Name research is a highly profitable venture, especially in the United States. The business takes several forms, including analysing the origins of names and highlighting stories about others, preferably famous individuals, bearing the same name.

Starting with fairly common names like Wright, Brown, Smith and Jones, keep everything you find relating to these surnames, and file them in large envelopes with the name marked on the outside. When you have enough - at least 20 different cuttings - compile them into some appropriate format: book, scroll, picture book, postcard or greetings card. Now have a direct mailshot produced telling prospects exactly what you have and how much it costs. Send the letter to everyone with that name in the local telephone directory. Later, branch out into non-local directories, and later on consider marketing the venture overseas. This is the kind of thing you could franchise to other areas. As soon as you've finished work on one name, send out everything franchisees need to market the product to people in their area, while you move on to creating products for another common surname.

# You could start a 'People Like You' series of books including living and dead, famous and infamous, real and imaginary people all sharing a common surname. Taking Wright, as an example, your book could be filled with pictures, stories and anecdotes about people like Orville and Wilbur Wright, the American aviators, and Frank Lloyd Wright the architect who built the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and the Gugenheim Museum in New York. For titles, use something like 'Wright Through the Years' or 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly' as a generic title for all books in the series.

# Copy and package advertisements by subject or profession. For example, we found dozens of advertisements from butchers, dressmakers, soap manufacturers, and more, in a pile of old 'Illustrated London News' publications from the early 1900s. The entire bundle of twenty plus magazines cost £3 and included ten or more full-page prints and posters per issue almost all of which sold at between £5 and £30. The more successful items we listed in categories described as 'Hot' in eBay's regular Hot Items report. Those categories included specific condiments, such as Mustard; soap and perfumery advertisements went like a bomb under 'Advertising:Chemists', and a huge number of sporting prints, mainly horse-racing went like hot cakes under Collectibles:Horse Racing. That's better than lumping them together under Antiques:Prints.

# Here's another great idea for out of copyright advertisements, especially smaller classified ads. We made our very own book, a best selling marketing book both on and off eBay, which we called 'HEADLINES THAT NEVER DIE', which was simply a collection of headlines we had taken from out-of-copyright sources. We simply typed them into a Microsoft 'Word 'document under categories, such as Travel, Children, Soaps, and so on. We also scanned some of the best advertisements into the 'Word' document to make the book visually appealing.

# Look for information printed long ago about firms still in existence which can be used in that firm's advertising literature. Testimonials, for example, and favourable comments and recommendations about a business or its product are highly effective advertising tools. Almost all direct marketing firms include quotes in their advertising literature. Take a look at the next mailshot you receive. Then keep an eye open for useful material to cut and offer to clients.

Christian Financial Counseling Programs

Debt and financial problems don't discriminate; there are people of all walks of life and colors that are experiencing hardships. There is currently over $800 million in credit card debt, the average household is carrying around a burden of $14k in credit card debt, and those that are in real trouble have 2 xs to 5x that much, and are looking for help.

People gravitate towards other people of similar interests, and it's no secret that most consumers do business with people that we know and trust, so it's no surprise that Christians turn to Christians for personal and financial advice or guidance. As of late there has been a growing number of non-profit (and a spattering of for-profit) organizations that offer Bible based financial guidance that have popped within the past decade, and for some Christians that is exactly what they are looking for. When it comes to getting help with your finances one might feel uncomfortable sharing their personal financial information with somebody, but if that somebody is somebody with a similar background-or religious preference-as you it might feel less intrusive.

Fortunately, for Christians, that find themselves in financial problems, the Bible is an excellent resource on money matters. In fact the Bible has over 250 verses giving advice in regards to personal finance and money, with the book of Proverbs providing a good chunk of that financial wisdom. That may seem ironic to some who thought that the Bible said that money was the root of all evil, but in fact the bible says that, "the love of money is the root of all evil."

Christians fall victim to the perils of financial turmoil, as do non-Christians, and like stated earlier financial problems happen to all people indiscriminately. Things like credit card debt can happen to anybody regardless of their faith, but luckily for Christians, there are Christian credit counseling organizations that can help believers get out of debt or prepare themselves to avoid debt problems in the future.

There are many types of Christian financial counseling but the most popular form of financial counseling is debt related counseling. With the growing number of people getting in credit card debt, it's no surprise that credit counseling is growing in popularity and for those of us that would feel more comfortable with receiving credit counseling from a Christian organization there is a good amount of credit counseling organizations that offer credit counseling.

Here are some of the more popular Christian credit counselors out there:

1. CCC (Christian Credit Counselors Inc.,)

2. Crown Financial

3. Family Life Credit Services

4. Dave Ramsey

A good start is checking out the internet and conducting a few internet searches to find a credit counselor, most of these credit counseling organizations will conduct a free debt analysis to get you started in the right direction, so that's something you might want to check out if you find yourself in debt deep water.

How to Identify and Locate a Cyber Bully With a Reverse Email Search

Are you the target of a Cyber Bully? A recent survey conducted by Edith Cowan University reveals that up to 10 per cent of children say they have been subjected to cyber-bullying over the Internet or on mobile phones.

In the US, 50 per cent of young people were being cyber-bullied and about 30 per cent reported they cyber-bullied others.

In the United Kingdom and Canada, the statistics were 25 per cent.

One reason why there is such a startling rise in this phenomena is that most people still think they are anonymous and untraceable on the Internet. The same study indicates that the Cyber-bullying was often anonymous, with 50 per cent of victims not knowing who was bullying them.

The cyber stalkers think they are untouchable and most of their victims also mistakenly believe it's impossible to locate and identify the person hiding behind an anonymous email account or Myspace page. But it's not. Not anymore.

Today there are private investigators that specialize in Internet email tracing and cyber bullying identifications. These investigators can track down , locate and identify the cyber bully. Then by documenting their investigation and their results they can create a report that can be used in court to prosecute the cyber bully that has crossed over the legal lines.

You can find an investigator to help you unmask your cyber bully by Googling "reverse email trace". Be sure the investigator you choose is considered an expert in the science.

In any case you do not need to fear a cyber bully. Not when there are professionals ready to help you.

How to Use Laterite As a Substrate For a Planted Freshwater Aquarium

Setting up a planted tank is one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences in freshwater fish keeping. Not only will your aquarium look natural and provide cover for your fish (which keeps them happy), the plants will help keep the water free from nitrates and other toxic biological compounds. Most of my tanks are at least semi-planted and I almost never have "random fish deaths" in those tanks. Plants in my opinion can act as a buffer to keep the water more stable for your fish.

When you set up a planted tank there are many things to consider, such as which plants to pick, which lights and how much, and of course the substrate. For today lets focus on the substrate since it's the foundation of your tank. If you are like most people, you go to the pet store and buy their overpriced bags of colored gravel. You end with an empty wallet and up wondering why your plants won't grow properly.

The only thing from the typical pet store you are going to need for this is box of laterite. Laterite is a clay like substance that contains iron, which plant roots need to grow properly. A typical box for a 40+ gallon aquarium will probably run you about twenty dollars. Next go to a hardware store like Orchard Supply or Home Depot and take a look at their sands and gravels. Typically you can find a 50lb bag for around five dollars. Personally I prefer to have a nice texture to my gravel so it looks natural. I usually buy a second bag of a larger size that I will mix in.

Make sure to completely rinse the laterite and other substrates in buckets before putting them into the tank. The laterite is tough to get clean so do the best you can. When you are ready, lay the laterite down first evenly or more concentrated where you think you might have more plants. Next, if you chose 2 or more other components, mix them together until you create a texture that looks good to you. Place the mixed substrate over the laterite, completely covering it.

For most tanks, I'd say 2-3 inches is fine for substrate depth. When filling the tank with water, pour slowly and carefully or you will stir up dust and powder from the laterite. Also be careful if you only used sand with your laterite. Sand is fine but sometimes it (and this is rare) can compact and create toxic bubbles of bacteria. When it's mixed with something else it's more unlikely this is going to happen. A good burrowing fish can also prevent this too, much like earthworms churn soil. Your gravel should have a nice rich, natural look and be ready for plants....good luck.

Thieves Are Outsmarting Savvy Consumers with New Scams Guaranteed to Fool You!

Like most things in life, the element of credit scams has evolved into a higher form. Those who are intent on stealing your identity and profiting from your good credit are taking the high-tech or the extremely convincing route to take advantage of you.

No longer do thieve just walk up and pick your pocket for a credit card - or blatantly send you an email trying to get you to divulge your personal financial information. Now, they're farming for information from consumers who are very protective of their identity - and they're getting them to hand it over!

It's a new scam - and judging from the alarming number of cases, it could happen to you tomorrow. Thieves have discovered a way to brand themselves as legitimate so that you never think twice about telling them your account information and passwords.

As you probably know, identity theft is a growing problem. In fact, experts have declared it an epidemic. If you haven't checked your credit report lately to see if someone has been using credit in your name, then you might be at risk and not even know it.

It takes a lot of time and hassle to clear up identity theft cases, so you want to prevent yourself from becoming a victim before it happens. See if this sounds familiar to you - and if it does, order your credit report today and cross your fingers that you haven't been duped!

It starts off with a seemingly innocent phone call or email. You have a credit card or bank account in, let's say, XYZ Company's name. A representative supposedly from the company calls (or emails you) to tell you that a charge of $1,500 is being processed and that they just wanted to be sure, since it was such a large purchase, that your identity wasn't being used improperly.

Well, of course, since you didn't make the phony charge, you instantly panic and start pleading with the representative not to allow the charge to go through. They've got you by an emotional hook.

Your concentration is on the panic of an unauthorized charge. The person calling is just making a friendly call to alert you - they're on your side - you think. So the bells and sirens don't go off in your head.

The caller knows your name, address, phone number, and account number. It all seems legitimate. You don't even flinch when they ask to confirm some information with you while they reject the charge because you're so relieved that the representative is willing to fix this problem for you and "protect" you.

You rattle off your PIN (personal identification number), the security digits on the back of the credit card, and any other information they need to handle the investigation. If you've ordered anything online or via phone lately, then you know everyone now requires the three to seven digit code on the back - something most thieves don't already have.

As you thank the representative repeatedly and hang up from the call, the person on the other end is either already charging up on your card or they've moved on to harvest this information from another unsuspecting consumer.

The call is so convincing because these people identify themselves with authority. They say they're from the investigation division of XYZ Credit Card Company. They know your contact information and account number.

They may even give you their direct phone line and extension - which are just made up numbers because by the time they hang up with you, you won't be able to call them back. Some have even stated a "badge identification number."

Sometimes, they'll even throw in a few specific details about the crime. They may tell you that a white man, aged 25-30 with brown hair and a beard was seen on security cameras using your credit card number to buy a 52" Plasma screen TV set at ABC Store in Dallas, Texas.

Your mind is spinning. You never realize you're putting your credit at risk if you answer this person's questions. They tell you that they're going to open a fraud investigation on this individual - and in order to activate the investigation, they just need you to confirm some information.

Some of it truly will be confirmation. They'll repeat your name and address - and maybe even your account number. But they'll also need YOU to confirm some information - details they don't have - like your PIN or your security code.

They'll appease your suspicions by telling you to just call the toll-free number on the back of your card if you want an update on the case, and then they'll tell you what your case number is.

The way they ask for your security code is by saying they need to "verify" that you're in possession of the card at this time. You verify it by handing your info over to a thief! You think it's to make sure your card hasn't been lost or stolen, but at that exact moment, it has been!

So how do you react if this happens to you? First, never give out any information. Instead, call the credit card company directly and ask to speak to their fraud division. Call the number on the back of the card - not any number the caller gives you.

If you give out the information and plan on verifying the next day, it may be too late. As many people mired in trying to get identity theft charges off of their credit report will tell you, don't hesitate to report your suspicions.

Restructuring The Brain Through Meditation

Eastern metaphysical beliefs consider the origins of our universe the one energy of reality as alluded to by science through the unified field theory, manifested itself after the big bang and the point of creation into a type of duality. Thus, opposites such as night-day, black-white, hard-soft are dependent on each other for their survival and existence.

Eastern mystical philosophy, argue it is the battle in our brain between the opposites that influence the universal creation. This battle between pairs of opposites is also identical to the structure of the human brain. Looking at the structure of the brain it is divided into two unbalanced hemispheres between right and left, reflecting the metaphysical thought of duality and a state called brain lateralization.

Our brain absorbs and perceives reality in a very structured and regimental way, thus there is a tendency to interpret data as separate and opposite opposed to the connected and whole as taught by spiritual teachers of the past and the very few today. It is also worth mentioning, scientist today are beginning to endorse and explore the role of spirituality combined with science through quantum physics.

The dual structure of our brain, combined with brain lateralization, prompts us to see and experience ourselves as separate from and most times in opposition to the rest of the living world, instead of experiencing a connection between us all and everything else as one organism.

As children the environment we grow up with to a large degree determines the programming we experience and the neural network [http://www.meditationeveryday.com.au/manifesting-abundance] of the brain structure. In addition a strict tendency towards constant and incessant lectures to move towards pleasure and away from pain, to seek this and avoid that and to do good opposed to bad etc, etc ...

Excess amounts of brain lateralization results in a greater feeling of separation leading to higher levels of fear, anxiety, stress and isolation.

Any kind of focusing will bring about a degree of brain alignment. Thus the greater you focuses the greater the synchronization and the deeper the meditative state.

Meditation practiced on a regular basis harnesses the skills to more ambient meditative states lowering the levels of stress and feeling of separation by aligning and balancing both sides of the brain hemispheres.

Over time the brain learns to create new neural pathways and structures connecting the two sides of the brain and allowing you to alter your state and consciousness [http://www.meditationeveryday.com.au/higher-consciousness] whether during a meditative session or not and remaining there for longer periods of time.

The greater the synchronization of the brain achieved through meditation the higher the threshold level for what you are able to deal with leading to greater immunization to stress and other related ailments.

By changing the perception through meditation of the outside world and aligning the brain's two hemispheres it is less able to divide reality into sections determined by childhood and environmental programming.

The benefits of meditation are very clear however, taking your meditation to a higher level produces some profound results as dualities become less divided, unity and connection becomes a greater reality allowing you to experience life as one. Life becomes less stressful, fearful and judgmental, allowing you to better cope with life's challenges without some desperate need of constant approval from others.

This is living life to the full without restrictions and limitations of past programming and structures based on the concept of separation.

Chronic Heartburn

Chronic heartburn is one of the serious gastric disorders which is characterized by the frequent recurrence of heartburn. It is often neglected as a common gastric disorder but chronic disorder must not be ignored as such since it may be an indication of any other serious disorder. Heartburn which is the burning feeling in the chest, can be classified as chronic if it recurs more than twice a week.

Heartburn occur when the gastric substances enters into the esophagus. Chronic heartburn is also dangerous on its own since the frequent contact with the acidic stomach contents will harm the lining of the esophagus and cause inflammation. It requires immediate medical attention since prolonged occurrence of the heartburn may result the risk of complications such as esophageal ulcer, esophageal bleeding, strictures and even esophagus cancer.

Causes

Chronic heartburn can be caused by the serious impairment of the esophagus muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). Hiatal hernia and many of the lifestyle factors were suspected to be the reason for it however chronic heartburn most often occurs as a result of the many serious disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD, ulcers, cancers, and severe gastric tissue impairment.

Symptoms

The symptom of chronic heartburn is the repeated occurrence of the burning sensation in the chest cavity. Even though the irritation occurs in usually below the breast bone, the pain will spread to the whole chest cavity such as back also. In some of the cases the irritation will spread to throat and even mouth. In severe conditions, the pain becomes intolerable.

Diagnosis

Chronic heartburn will be evident from the symptoms itself however physicians will suggest the patient have more detailed diagnostic tests to precisely identify the degree of impairment of the esophagus and the associated diseases. Barium x-ray, endoscopy, pH determination and esophageal impedance tests are the common diagnostic procedures to determine chronic heartburn

Treatment

Medical assistance is essential for chronic heartburn to overcome the repeated disturbances. Along with the popular medications such as antacids, H-2 receptor blockers and proton pump inhibitors, physicians used to recommend prescription strength medications to minimize its manifestations. Prokinetic activators are also suggested in many occasions. The treatment is actually focused on not only minimize the symptoms, but also to heal the impaired sites and to rejuvenate it. In severe conditions, surgery is also recommended, according to the condition demands.

Prevention

Immediate prevention is not actually practical for chronic heartburn however a balanced routine can help you to avoid the life style factors that may contribute to the disease. Practice a good posture for sitting, standing and lying down, avoid spicy and acid diet and bad habits such as cigarette smoking and alcohol and also exercise to reduce weight. Hence, a balanced living can help you to prevent heartburn, as with any other disease.

Brian Tracy's Eat That Frog Book

It is easy to misfire thinking the solutions Tracy proposes to the problem of procrastination - the biggest thief of time- are particularly common to the industrialized world, where productivity has climbed up to unimaginable heights. We hasten to say no. The secret to solving the time problem which the author tells us in his book- Eat That Frog, is prioritizing the truly important tasks and throwing away or simply ignoring those that attract less weight.

Brian Tracy appears to lend credence to the view that it is only possible to regulate time. And thus life, if we change the way we think, work and handle the battalion of daily activities that compete for our attention.

The author's productivity logic centers on three frog sayings that inspired the book's title: 1. If the first thing you do each morning is to eat a life frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long.

2. If you have to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest first.

3. If you have to eat a life frog, it does not pay to sit and look at it for very long.

The lesson that stretches out from the first and second sets of these frog-eating habits is that you must tackle the most important and the most difficult tasks first each day; that is, when your energy is still very hungry for work. Before anything else, one must overcome the temptation to start with the easiest tasks in order to achieve a higher level of output and productivity, the author counsels.

On the contrary, you should create an environment where the main goal is dealt with every morning. Working as a young sailor on a cargo ship and as a door-to-door salesman, Tracy says he discovered that 95% of the time, success in life and in the workplace is a result of the development of lasting habits. These habits include listing priorities, overcoming uncertainty and tackling the most important and tedious assignment. Habits are based on mental and physical ability, and therefore can be learned and developed through practice and repetition until they become automatic responses.

Throughout the book, the author offers 21 logical steps to manage time and organize assignments. Each step includes several chapters that are accompanied by practice exercises. The trouble shooting strategy is clear, precise and easy to follow, I must admit. The information is presented in manageable slices with simple direct phrases that cap one with unbelievable abilities to perform.

And just to sign off, we think the writer's call on us to "eat that frog connotes chewing, which also can be time-consuming. So we say, don't eat the frog; swallow that frog!

History of Solar Energy

You may think of solar use as new to our century. However, the ancient Greek and Romans used passive solar in their homes. Wood to burn was often scarce, so they learned to face their houses south to catch the sun during the winter. They covered the south facing openings with mica or glass.

By the 6th Century A.D., houses with sunrooms on public buildings and houses became so popular, that a law had to be created to make sure that no other buildings blocked the sun from an existing structure that used solar energy for heat. Here in North America, the Anasazi people faced their cliff dwelling structures south to catch the sun for heating purposes as well. The Pueblo's are descendants of these people.

During the 1800's solar use again came into limited use. August Mouchout, an inventor, felt that fossil fuels would eventually run out. He built a solar powered steam engine. the high cost of building the unit, plus the falling price of English coal brought an end to his dream. The thought of using solar energy as a source of power still interested individuals and scientist throughout the 19th century. Solar hot water heaters came into existence in 1891 when Clarence Kemp patented the first solar hot water heater system. It became a practical way to heat water, especially in Florida and California. by 1900, almost 1600 homes had been built with solar hot water heat in California. The unit worked well during the day, but did not keep water hot over night. It wasn't until William Bailey created and patented another water heater system in 1909 that water would stay warm over night. That system had a separate storing system for the hot water. This kept the water hot over night. He called his system the "Day and Night Solar Hot Water Heater." Through the years, improvements have been made on solar hot water heaters, but they work similar to what was created in the early 1900's.

Since then, other means of using solar energy have been created. For instance, in the 1950's Bell Labs discovered that silicon could be used as a semi-conductor of electricity. This discovery paved the way for solar cells and solar panels. Today, solar power is used to supply electric to homes and businesses. Solar panels and even shingles using this technology now exist. We have appliances that use solar cells to power them. We have outdoor lighting that works very well off of this technology. It can be used as illumination or as a means to add beauty to a home at night, or both. There is an array of solar powered products that no longer need to be plugged into a wall socket. Just the sun as a source of power.

Solar powered products and ideas are becoming very popular and a good investment because after the initial cost, there is minimal upkeep. They have become a reasonable alternative to fossil fuels. Shouldn't all of us use this natural resource? Why not join the green revolution. Help save our earth.

Alfred Wainwright - Lover of the Lakeland Fells

Northwest England's Lake District, also known as Lakeland, enjoys immense popularity today, and is a favorite destination for those who wish to enjoy the serenity of nature. Fell walking is considered to be the best way to explore the valleys and peaks of the geographically unique Lake District, and though many have been written, the most respected guides and picture records of the region are those written by Alfred Wainwright. Born in Blackburn, Lancashire in January of 1907, Wainwright was always a smart student and very resourceful. Wainwright worked constantly throughout his childhood, and when, in 1930, he had saved up enough money to afford a modest vacation, he chose the Lakes District as his destination, sparking what would become a lifelong love affair with the area.

Although it meant taking a pay cut, Alfred Wainwright accepted the position of Borough Treasurer in Kendal, Westmorland in 1941 just to be closer to the fells. He would remain in that position until his retirement in 1962. Given his immense affection for the Lakeland, it is no wonder that Wainwright began planning what would eventually become a seven volume guide to the fells in 1952. Although the works, called the Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, would become beloved by those who would follow Wainwright in his love of the Lake District, they were originally intended only for his own enjoyment and gratification. In fact, if left up to Wainwright, the books may never have become published, due to his aversion to finding a publisher. His friend, Henry Marshall, Chief Librarian of Kendal and Westmorland, noticed Wainwright's talent and finally took over publicity of the book, and is credited as the publisher in the early editions.

Besides the pictorial guides, Alfred Wainwright is the other of over 40 other books focusing on the Lakeland Fells, including over 20 books of drawings, nine color illustrated books, a map of Westmorland and Antiquarian Map of Cumbria, and several autobiographical works, including Fellwanderer: The Story Behind the Guidebooks which was released in 1966.

When he passed away in 1991 because of a heart attack, Alfred Wainwright left behind a legacy in his books and a wealth of knowledge that other fell walkers would depend on for decades to come. Since they were written, Wainwright's Pictorial Guides have never been out of print, selling over two million copies worldwide. In his honor, the 214 fells described in the Pictorial Guides are known as 'the Wainwrights.'

My Water Bill is Very High, What Can I Do to Find the Cause?

If your water bill has suddenly become increasingly high, you can rest assured that you have a leak somewhere. Once you recognize there is a problem, you will need to set out to determine where the leak is coming from so that you may repair it adequately. However, you may be surprised to discover that many toilets are the cause of high water bills, so you may want to begin by checking your toilet for leaks. If you notice condensation on your toilet bowl or tank, or hear your toilet automatically flush, then you most likely have a leak in your toilet.

If you would like to locate the leak yourself, you will need to purchase a mechanic's stethoscope. This will help you find the source of the leak. To begin, you will need to turn off every appliance in your home that uses water. Once all of the appliances are off, check your water meter and make a note of the reading. In about half an hour, double check the meter, if it has moved, then you know there is a definite leak. Now you will need to use the mechanic's stethoscope to help locate the leak. If you can tell that there is a definite leak, then you should contact a plumber.

List Building Tips - Videos

In this installment of List Building Tips, I want to focus on videos. I know I talked about social media in general in an earlier installment but I feel that videos deserves a more in depth explanation because, quite honestly, most people don't have a clue how to do them properly. Hopefully, after reading this, you'll have more than a clue.

When somebody mentions the word "video" the first thing most people think about is YouTube. Granted, YouTube is the king of video sites but it isn't the only one. Also, just because you create a video doesn't mean you have to ONLY put it on a video sharing site. There are other options that I will cover in this article.

Obviously, you DO want to submit your videos to YouTube but you also want to use other video sharing sites as well. You may not get as much traffic, but every visitor counts, especially if your video is done well. We'll get to the video specifics later.

But in addition to video sharing sites, you also want to put your video on your own site, whether it be a blog, static web site or even your sales page. Sometimes, people don't buy right away. A video on your sales page, plugging your newsletter, could be an effective tool to get them onto your list so that you can follow up with them in the future and turn them into a buyer.

Another thing you might want to do with your videos is place them in your products. A one time buyer, seeing these semi promotional videos for your list just might subscribe and turn into a long time buyer. Again, if the video is done properly and the product they bought was good, the chances are quite good.

Okay, so just how do you actually create these videos? The process is really quite simple. A good list building video should be broken up into three parts.

Part One - An introduction that hits their hot buttons. You want to get them interested in what's to come next. For example, for the dating niche, you might start with an eye catching headline such as "Discover How To Get Any Beautiful Girl You Want." This will catch their attention and get them to watch what's coming next.

Part Two - The actual content where you give a brief summary of how to get any beautiful girl. You don't want to go into too much detail because you want them on your list in order to get more information.

Part Three - You pitch your list. Something like, "For more information on this subject, visit (give URL) and join my (give name of newsletter) and you'll be on your way to (give main benefit)."

The process is really that simple. Yes, it's kind of cookie cutter but it works. There is a reason why you see so many videos that are presented in this manner. There is an old saying that's quite true. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to be successful.

There you have it... a great way to use videos to build your list.

Yes... it works.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Professional Bull Riding - Sports Center

Professional Bull Riding has grown tremendously over the past 10 years. My dream is to one day turn on ESPN Sports Center to see highlights from the latest PBR Built Ford Tough Series event. The thought of that 15 years ago would have been insane. Today I think I can see a little light at the end of the tunnel but my opinions may be a bit skewed on this subject due to the fact I am engulfed with this amazing sport.

I rode bulls myself for 15 years and have been retired for 11 years. I have been an agent for Professional Bull Riders for the last 10 years along with raising bucking bulls. So, as you can see, the sport of Bull Riding has been a part of my life for the last 26 years. I've seen the sport from many different angles.

So back to my dream, Professional Bull Riding on ESPN's Sports Center. I love sports center! That may be part of the reasoning for my dream but really it leans more toward my love for the sport of Professional Bull Riding. I've been a Professional Bull Rider, I'm currently an agent for Professional Bull Riders and I raise Bucking Bulls. I know the sport inside and out! I've seen the growth of this sport first hand. I'm excited about the growth but not satisfied. Because of my unique position, I know all about the sponsorship figures for these athletes along with earnings for the bull athletes. Yes the earnings are way better than they were 26 years ago and sponsorships back then were pretty much nonexistent but I believe these figures need to be more. I think that is a key factor in making the Sports Center dream a reality. Sports Center reports on sports that are main stream and involve athletes who rake in millions. Obviously, Professional Bull Riding is lacking in both of those categories.

I really believe the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR) is doing all it can do to take this dangerous sport to the next level. Most people in this country grow up playing Baseball, Football and Basketball so they can connect with those sports as fans. That holds another key factor for the mainstream growth for Professional Bull Riding. Connection! The television broadcast of the PBR Built Ford Tough Series is helping with that but I think there needs to be more focus on introducing this sport to the youth of America. I don't have all the answers on how that should be done but I do believe some sort of plan should be put in place. Maybe the PBR should dedicate a division for youth outreach. Like I said, I don't have all the answers but hopefully this will be an area that is discussed. Who knows, maybe I will end up on a committee for this topic.

Until then the dream will stay alive! Next on Sports Center... da na na da na na!

Home Owner Personal Loans: An Efficient Approach Towards Quenching Your Desires

The old saying goes "stretch your legs according to the linen you have", but nothing is constant and even this has to change. If you want to fulfill your unlimited desires, of course you need money. The best idea for you would be a personal loan.

Opting for a Personal loan is no longer a taboo, but is considered a smart way to get a hold on your needs. The aim of this loan is to meet the varied personal needs which may range from buying a home, a luxurious car or to start a new business, or going out on a holiday, getting the home refurnished to getting rid of multiple creditors. You name your need and there is a loan meant for you.

Personal loans are categorised as: secured, unsecured, debt consolidation, bad credit, homeowner and even personal car loans. So, the day is not far when you will be zooming on the four wheels of your choice.

If you are a homeowner then you are the biggest beneficiary in this case, for you can avail a Home owner personal loan, which brings with itself the much needed mental satisfaction for the lender as he will have the assurance of his loan repayment in the form of your home. However as a borrower you will rewarded with the following:

Low Rate of Interest:

Since collateral is attached you get the loan on a lower rate of interest as the lender gets the much-needed security. If you have a good credit history then you get to avail the loan at a lot lower rate of interest

The rate of interest is also determined by the equity you have in your home. More the equity less is the rate of interest and vice versa.

Easy Repayments:

Since your home is kept as security with the lender, you get an easy repayment plan, which is easy on your pocket.

Long Duration Loan:

As you have collateral attached to the loan you can get the loan for a longer time period depending upon the equity in your home. The time may vary from 5 to 30 years.

So homeowners get up and let your home open wider doors for you!
